FAQ

What's the difference between 2D and 3D?

Although we typically think of 2D as being flat, 2D coins will still have raised surfaces. Text is often raised and the edge of a color or image will be made with raised metal. However, the raised metal will be flat, or all one level.

In a 3D design, the metal can be contoured, or raised to multiple levels. This works well with images that have a lot of detail, such as faces. 3D images will not use color, but color can be used on the coin around the image.
