End Station Geocoins

FAQ

1) What are End Station Geocoins?

End Station Geocoins are Geocoins which were produced by nielsenc. They were made to 'reward' Geocachers who complete the new VTA Light Rail Series and find the End Station Mystery Cache.

2) How can I obtain an End Station Geocoin?

  • Visit and Log all seven (7) Geocaches in the series. (See list Below)
  • Find the End Station Geocache.
  • Write your name in the Log and record which number you are.
  • Write down the 'code' word.
  • Post your number in your log.
  • Send an email from the nielsenc Geocaching page with the 'code' word, number, and mailing address.
  • You will be sent a coin with the corresponding number.

Here are all the Geocaches you will need to find:

    VTA Bascom Station
    VTA Diridon Station
    VTA Downtown Campbell Station
    VTA Fruitdale Station
    VTA Hamilton Station
    VTA Race Station
    VTA Winchester Station
    and the last cache:
    End Station Mystery Cache.

    3) Do I have to log every cache in the series?

    Yes.

    4) Can I obtain more then one End Station Geocoin?

We are only giving out one Geocoin per geocacher.

    5) Is there a cost to get an End Station Geocoin?

No, we have produced this coin for those who complete the series. There is cost to us and we gladly accept donations but they are not required.

    6) How many Geocoins were produced.

We produced between 100 and 500 Geocoins. As there is a limited supply, we hope everyone does this series soon to claim their own Geocoin. We should have enough to cover most of the Geocachers in the South Bay.

    7) Are the Geocoins individually numbered?

Yes! The numbers go from 1 to X00. There is also one with "FTF" on it. This will be given out to the person who gets the First To Find.

    8) Are you going to hold any back?

Yes, we are keeping #1 and the last few of this series. Since we made a FTF Geocoin, we would keep #1 for placing the series. The rest will be given away.

    9) Are they trackable?

No, we thought about making them trackable. Since they are limited to one per person, the expense of making them trackable on www.geocaching.com would be of little value.

    10) Will you be doing more Geocache Geocoins in the future?

    We hope so.

    11) How can I find out if my coin has been sent?

You can check on your Geocoin Status. If you see an 'x' by your name, that means your coin was handed to you at an event or it has been mailed. We are planning to send out 10 coins at a time per week. We are starting at 1 and going down the list in order. If you were skipped over, that means we dont have your mailing address or you didnt attend a mini event.
